Commercial Officer - Account Management

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a Commercial Officer – Account Management within the Civil Aerospace Customer Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the contractual and commercial arrangements across a range of airlines in the Greater China region. The role will be based in the Greater China Customer Service Centre, Beijing, on a ‘Peer to Peer’ secondment basis for a minimum of two years.

The civil airline group of customers provide an interesting and diverse array of accounts. Rolls-Royce Civil Aerospace is currently undertaking a major development in its service delivery to these customers by setting up regional Customer Service Centres. This role offers an excellent opportunity to be part of this development.

Key accountabilities of the role are:

to be the Commercial lead for allocated customer accounts and to provide an efficient and timely Commercial account management service for such accounts. This includes: management of contracted commitments, invoicing, issuing credits, TotalCare escalation and reconciliations, drafting and agreeing offer letters, contract interpretation and drafting and agreeing amendments to contracts;

to manage the resolution of customer issues, claims and disputes in order to minimise cost and risk to the company. To draft, negotiate and agree associated commercial settlements and/or contractual amendments as necessary;

to identify and assess potential risks and liabilities inherent in contracts and to propose and negotiate amendments to manage, minimise or mitigate such risks or liabilities whilst achieving expected financial returns;

to manage profit, cash and debt relating to specific contracts to ensure that financial targets are achieved and to provide timely and accurate inputs into the financial forecasting process;

to ensure delivery of relevant Customer Team objectives in line with Business Plan Deployment, while demonstrating compliance with Commercial function and business policies and procedures;

to provide technical supervision/coaching to Customer Commercial Representatives on day to day issues;

to complete business approvals in accordance with applicable business policies and procedures; and

to support customer visits as required.

In addition to the above, the successful candidate will be required to participate in and sometimes lead, via an integrated project team (IPT), improvement projects for both the Commercial function and task area.

Job Summary

On-Wing

Services (OWS) has delivered substantial benefits to the business and its customers. It is responsible for delivering field services on a global scale to support the expanding requirements in the civil fleet.

Service provides the technical interface with airline operators and overhaul shops.Working within a busy and dynamic environment, Service engineers support Civil RB211 and Trent in-service fleets, as well as the service introduction of the Trent 1000 and XWB fleets.The engineers on this team work closely with all other engineering disciplines at a whole and sub-system level to ensure that in-service technical issues are resolved quickly. In driving technical solutions to these issues, they support their project zero team, which manages the continuous improvement in reliability of our products. Service engineers also lead high profile safety and reliability investigations. They work in integrated product teams to determine the root cause of in-service issues, and if a need for design change is identified, they support the gated design change process. Moreover, Service works closely with Customer Support to implement technical recommendations with minimal disruption to the flying fleet.Our aerospace business delivers innovative engineering, technology and ideas that are ready to face the challenges of the future. In civil, we have over 30,000 engines currently in service with 650 airlines, freight operators and lessors,and 4,000 corporate operators. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • The Technical Planner role is a great opportunity for an individual with a Customer focused, planning and engineering background to demonstrate their skill in a testing environment.
  • The role will operate Monday to Friday, with Stand-by and Call-out outside of these hours.
  • As an On-Wing Services Technical Planner, you will be responsible for:
  • Technical planning and execution of line maintenance tasks.
  • Planning, liaison with key stakeholders e.g. OWS Mechanics, Customers, Operations Management Team, customer invoicing and work pack closure.
  • Forging strong links with the rest of OWS Operations and CLE Customer Business & Sales Team to ensure effective planning of CLE customer demand for OWS services.
  • Building the OWS network within the region and gaining regulatory approvals.

Qualifications

  • Apprentice trained in an engineering discipline / a strong aircraft maintenance engineering background is preferable.
  • Strong services and technical background, with invoicing and contract administration experience.
  • IT literate and comfortable using IT systems and tools for the planning and scheduling of tasks and resources.
  • Experience of planning activities and tasks in a dynamic and pressurised environment to support customer needs professionally, and the ability to work in a calm and efficient manner.
  • Ability to develop good working relationships at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Customer focused and able to work in a changing environment, being flexible and responsive in approach to deal with requests of the customers and third parties.

Supplier Quality Engineer

As a Supplier Quality Engineer, your main
responsibility will be to ensure quality of supplied product or service meets
regulatory, contractual and customer requirements through effective product
verification, containment, problem resolution and improvement activities with

• Analyse data and information on allocated suppliers"
performance and identify improvement opportunities.

• Effectively manage undeclared non-conformance containment

• Assist problem solving / corrective action teams by cross
functional coordination between the Rolls-Royce Production Organization, the
Supplier Owning Region, Engineering and Customer Interface or other internal stakeholders. 


• Provide oversight and governance to ensure product
integrity / approval related tasks are in-line with regulatory, customer and
Quality functional requirements. 


• Oversee final product inspection, service verification or
testing at the supplier (Source Inspection) and / or within the plant. 


• Verify supplier compliance via suitable audit and process
assessments (when within personal authorization).


Qualifications

• Degree qualified or equivalent together with substantial
experience of working in a Quality and or Manufacturing role.


• Experience of root cause analysis, problem solving / 8D
investigation methods and process improvement techniques. 


• Experience in terms of containment activities and be able
to provide regular updates to internal stakeholders.


• A strong customer focus, able to effectively influence and
challenge appropriately to manage customer expectations.


• Experience of running Kaizen events, understanding of
Advance Product Quality planning (Production Part Approval Process (PPAP),
Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Process
Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (PFMEA) and Control Plans with the ability to
coach others on practical application of these tools.


• Lean six-sigma Green Belt or Black Belt accredited is
preferred.


• Experience working within the supply chain would be
beneficial, but not essential.


• Demonstrated levels of leadership and influence.
